Judith, I am so happy to hear that other people are working on this line. I was beginning to think no one cared. Mrs. Hoffman in her Gum book has this to say, "...Solin ? Whitehurst in Union Township, Campaign County, Ohio. This later entry was meant for Tolliver Whitehouse." She is referencing the 1820 Ohio Census. Could this be S. Whitehearst? This isn't my direct line, but I believe that Tolliver was a brother to my ggg grandfather, Jacob Whitehurst who was in Illinois by 1840. However, he lived in Fairfield, Loraine and Seneca County,OH before he moved to Illinois. His son was married in Hardin County, OH. I would be very interested to talk to all of you, because I think these people are probably very closely related. If you will contact me at my e-mail, I will send you what I have on this family. By the way, this (Whitehearst) is about the sixth spelling of this name that I have come across. Since it is the name I was born to, it is rather disconcerting.
