Hello James:
I have just found my ggrandfather, Francis(Frank)Marion Whitehurst. He was born in Henry county, Ala. in March of 1845. He married Minerva Ellen Whatley in Gregg County Texas 1-17-1883. She was also born in Henry county Ala., but 22 yrs. after Francis. Don't know how they met in Gregg County Texas. They had 15 children. He was in the confederate army and was a prisoner for the last year of the war. Was released in 1865.
Was wondering if he could be related to your John Whitehurst. I have his children's names if you need them. There is such an age difference I was wondering if he might have been married before Minerva Whatley.
I would appreciate anything from you if any of this sounds familiar.
Thank you.
LaVerne Anderson
