I think that we have been making some serious mistakes with this family. Jane Whitehead whom we thought was his mother along with man siblings was already in Haywood Co. NC in 1840 but Stephen Tiptohn Whitehead was still back iin SC.
In 1821 Tilman Whitehead had been bound out, probably an orphan or had at least lost his father.
Family is myself (James Alverson) my wife Sabisa aged sixty two years and a bound boy named Tilman Whitehead aged
fourteen years able to support ourselves [himself?] I have also a Daughter named Nancy aged 25 years
who is afflicted with the Rheumatic pains so that she has not been able to feed herself for nearly
seventeen years and have her to support and we are not all well able to support ourselves

I have Stephen Tipton Whitehead after he comes to Cocke and Sevier Co. area of Tennessee. I need specififc information on any of the above people.
