The Whitefields: Civil War, Revolutionary War, all the way to England
Hello everyone,
I'm a direct descendant of William Whitefield, who served in the Revolutionary war, and his descendant, George Whitefield, who served in the Confederate army. I'm in Ellis County, Texas, where George Whitefield's family moved in 1859. Burials of ancestors since that line are here. I'm seeking any info about this family's connection to England. From what I gather, there were three brothers including William who came here. Also looking for a list of what units William was with in Washington's Army. I know he reinforced the 6th Virginia, but that was consolidated with the 2nd Virginia, just wondering if anyone has documentation that states things clearly.
Thanks,
Kevin Crouch
