Hi Betty, Saw your Davis/Whitecotton material. I descend from Sarah Whitecotton's first marriage to Tilghman?Tillman Hardy Burnes. Some of the Davis children listed in the 1860 census would have to be children by his previous marriage. Burnes was murdered in 1836 and left Sarah with 3 small children. My ancestor Christopher Columbnus Burnes was born in 1833. I have lots of Whitecotton & Burnes material that I will share.
