No, I have no additional info on Joseph (or his sister Mary Ann for that matter). I don't have any burial records from Enfield at all (on my infinitely long to do list!), but these will certainly provide a clearer picture.
I think there is a very good chance that the marriage entry from Morpeth will say where the groom is from - he could not possibly have been local. If Jane was from there, it is possible that Joseph was even baptised there, even if he was apparently born in Scotland (but maybe Northumberland was referred to as something like 'up near Scotland' by the family, which over time simply became 'Scotland').
Incidentally, the only other Northumberland Whit(e)bread marriage I know of was that of the second Samuel Whitbread when he married Lady Elizabeth Grey in 1788 (her family had an estate, Falloden, in Howick).
If Edward's children and grandchildren had to visit family in Northumberland occasionally, they would have passed through Nottinghamshire ...
