Hello Rick, I am researching the Yarbrough/Yarbro line.

My great-grandfather (yes, that's right), James Yarbrough was born in 1815 in TN. He is listed on the 1850 Decatur TN census. He lives next door to Daniel White (b. 1787) and Nancy White (b. 1795).

James was married to an unknown wife and had three children, the youngest named Nancy who was born in 1843. I believe that this wife died in child birth. He remarried to Louisa Childers/Childress but before that it stands to reason that he needed help caring for his three small children.

I see that you have a Daniel White born that same year and am curious about what you have on him. My 'theory' is that James' first wife was the daughter of your Daniel and Nancy White. She would have been born most likely around 1815 as well. Does any of this sound likely to you?

It has not come up any where on records what my James' middle name was or even what his initial was but family story is that it was White and that White was the name he went by. So possibly there was other White ancestry?

I see that the Whites migrated from Anson NC as did the Yarbros. Also seems that they all caught 'Texas Fever'. I know there is a Yarbrough - White connection and I feel like my James fits somehow, any help would appreciated.

Loeta (Yarbrough) Venable
