Thank you for responding.I have the book. One of the authors, Clara Bradford Buzbee was my mothers first cousin. My grandad was Clara's uncle. Her mother was Willie Henrietta Bradford who married James Thomas Cantrell. I have followed and done a little of his line on ancestry. There is a book about the Cantrells I think I put somewhere that is in detail and dont know who wrote as of now it was a sectionof a book on ancestry.com. My info about my lines is on ancestry.com under Duncan Parr.I am trying to get all that I have on it.I start one line and end up on another. I have tried to get my husband's in lately for they have had some reunions.I have more Bradford but not much; cant get by James Randolph Bradford and about to decide he was hatched.
I have gone to Bradford reunions all my life. I was in the Garner/Mineral Wells area visiting nearly every weekend of my life until we moved to Longview and then every other weekend or so. I was basically only child for 6 years so went everywhere with Grandparents and my parents made the roadtrip after moving to Longview. I am kin to Vance, Walters, Bradford, Busbee, Gilbert, Wilmuth, Taylor, and on and on in the Parker, Palo Pinto, Wise, Eastland, and other counties.
Thank you for responding so quickly.I appreciate your help in correcting info for if I ever put something wrong want to be corrected. It is hard for "a lot" of that book,Santo the Hub, has different versions of who was kin to who. Would love to read the parts about your family so let me know or I will try to find.
I follow a Jordan line also. They were in Parker CO TX and came from Drew AR but were in Hinds CO MS originally. There are many still in AR who some day I guess I will get in contact who I found in several Bedwell books and a Drew CO book. I was thrilled but never got going good due to life. I did find a big event several months ago that I have to get back on hard. I knew that my grandmother Walters was a Jordan. In 1900,Her mother came from Drew CO I think that is where her family was and bought land in Garner TX Area (Springtown) She married a John Freeman and died a few days after having her second child by him. My grandmother was 11 and he was apparently abusive and she left when she was about 14 to live with a Moore family which was his sister for there was a new wife also. She knew nothing about her family until the late 1960's and did not find much.At that time I was finishing college and had not really done genealogy other than helping my mother's mother on the Bradford/Vance/ etc.
I got to talk to her half sister who for years my dad said that she did not know anything, but she did know the name of her mother's family which was Lee and I found a ton of stuff in a few months, but a that time we moved twice in 18 months three kids, teaching, health issues, and on and on with life stuff.
If you think your Jordan's might fit in please let me know.
I now think that the Jordan who is my great grandfather did not die as was what my grandmother was told. I think that I found him with another family, but dropped the ball and need to get with my lead again.Your help would be appreciate if you think could fit in your line or keep info in case later down the line you find something.
Thank you Cheryl Walters Parr
