Horatio, b. 1772, MD; to PA, to OH, to IA; died ca. 1852
Horatio White was born in Prince George's County, Maryland circa 1772, parents unknown.Between about 1792 and 1797, he married Teresa Tinley (a/k/a Theresa and Tracey, a/k/a Tenley, Tennley, etc.), born July 9, 1774 in Prince George's County to William and Lydia (Burgess) Tinley.
In the baptismal records of St. John's Parish in Prince George's County are the records for two children.
1.Ozburn White, baptized 28 November 1798, son of Horatio and "Treacy" White.
2.Jonathan White, baptized 29 June 1806, son of Horatio and "Teresa" White.
These two records are included in the Latter Day Saints International Genealogical Index, Batch Number C507771 (North America) and can be seen online at www.familysearch.org.
Horatio White was the head of a household in Prince George's County, Maryland at the time of the federal census in 1800, with statistics of 1-0-0-1-0;1-0-1-0-0.Interpreting this data, Horatio was the male age 26 to 45 (being 28 at the time) and Teresa was the female 16 to 26 (being 26 at the time).Their son Ozburn (a/k/a Osborn or Osborne) was the male under 10 (being about 1 or 2) and then there was a daughter also under 10.
Horatio was again the head of a household in Prince George's County at the time of the federal census in 1810, with statistics of 2-0-0-1-0;1-0-1-0-0.Interpreting this data, Horatio was the male 26 to 45 (being 38 at the time) and Teresa was apparently incorrectly recorded, as still being 16 to 26.Ozburn had either died, was living elsewhere, or was incorrectly recorded as under 10 (when he was really 11 or 12).Another son (or possibly two??) had been born between 1800 and 1810, and the daughter was either dead or incorrectly recorded as under 10.
According to a biographical sketch provided by Horatio White Jr., his father moved the family to Washington County, Pennsylvania (far SW corner).See the History of Appanoose County, Iowa, available online, as below.

WHITE, HORATIO, Jr., farmer, Sec. 15; P. 0. Milledgeville; born in Washington Co., Penn., • in 1824; son of Horatio White, Sr., who was born in Prince George's Co., Md., in 1772; in 1820, married Miss Sarah Roberts, born in Maryland in 1786, but then, a resident of Washington Co., Penn.; they had three children —the eldest, Horatio, when he was 3 years of age, with his parents, removed to Columbiana Co., Ohio. Received a good common-school education, and, at the age of 26 [ca. 1850], with his parents, emigrated to Jefferson Co., Iowa; there his father died in 1852, aged 80 years; in 1855, he removed to this county, where he now owns eighty acres of land, valued at $3,000. In 1860, he married Miss Ellen Wilson, who was born in 1831; daughter of Andrew W., of Fairfield, Jefferson Co., Iowa, from Indiana; born in North Carolina; a pioneer of Henry Co., Iowa; she is a member of the M. E. Church. Mr. White has two children —Frank, born Jan. 14, 1861; Harry, born in November, 1864. He is a member of the Congregationalist Church; has been Township Clerk and Supervisor. Greenbacker.
Given the Washington County, PA location, it is possible to identify the daughter of Horatio and Teresa born ca. 1800.Her name was Elizabeth, and her marriage in 1819 in Washington County appears below.

I have not been able to find Horatio White as the head of a household in Washington County at the time of the 1820 census in the index provided by Heritage Quest, but he might have been overlooked in the indexing.
Making reasonable inferences, Teresa (Tinley) White must have died between 1810 and 1819, either in Maryland or in Pennsylvania.Horatio, a widower with two to four children, then married Sarah Roberts about 1820, in Washington County, PA.Horatio and Sarah had three children:Horatio Jr. in 1824, and two more.
In about 1827, Horatio moved the family slightly West, to Columbiana County, Ohio, where they resided for more than 20 years.About 1850, Horatio moved again, to Jefferson County, Iowa.He is buried there.See the following:

Somewhere in Ohio, possibly in/near Columbiana County, Jonathan White, son of Horatio and Teresa, had married Jane (maiden name unknown) and, in 1840 had a daughter, Tracey, who they named for Jonathan's late mother.Jonathan and Jane moved to Iowa too, and can be found in the 1860 census for Cedar Township of Muscatine County, Iowa.They later moved to Wilmington Township, Wabaunsee County, Kansas.See the 1870 and 1880 censuses.
Horatio White Jr. appeared as the head of a household in the 1860 census for Independence Township, Appanoose County, Iowa.In the adjacent household was a William White, age 40, born in PA (ca. 1820).I suspect that he might have been another son of Horatio and that the biographical sketch (above) might have been wrong in calling Horatio Jr. the "eldest", although it may have meant Horatio was the eldest living child at the time the biography was written/published???
