Garnie Phildean White, 1949
Madisonville Democrat, (Monroe Co. TN) Wednesday, February 2, 1949, Page 6:
“In Remembrance Of Garnie P. White---On Sunday, January 23, 1949, the angel of death came to the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lewis White and claimed their son, Garnie Phildean White, age 15 months.
Surviving are his parents, four brothers, two sisters, several other relatives and many friends. We are not saying good-bye, but good-night, for tomorrow we will meet again.
Some day we will meet where no sickness, death nor sorrow ever comes. Garnie has paid a debt which we all must pay and is now at rest, blooming as a flower-bud in the Master’s garden. God loves little children. It is not God’s will that any should perish, but we must be converted and become humble as a little child before we can enter the Kingdom of God. May the family circle be unbroken in Heaven. This is our prayer.
Funeral services were held at Clifton [Baptist Church] by Rev. J.W. Newman. Pallbearers were Messrs. Boyd McLemore, Ralph Maynard and Eulis and Joe White. Flower girls were Mrs. Esta Keller, Mrs. Nettie Webb, Misses Lucille, Charlsie and Phoebe Maynard and Faye White. Burial was in the Mullins Cemetery.” ----A Cousin, Faye White.
