I am also looking for same.
I am looking for info on my Bennie family which I have scarce amount. My great grandfather was a James Victor Bennie who came from somewhere in Scotland with his brother (have no name). My James was in civil war(around 1862)on union side possibly out of Vermont or Maryland. He survived a stay in Andersonville prison. Later became a farmer in Arkansas and married a Charity White.Only from there do I have any info.
Charity White was said to have been brought "North" by a nanny along with her brother, Tom. They were orphaned around civil war. Believe they were brought to a relative's home. She lived in possibly Newton Co.in Arkansas,
Walnut (creek) area.
Could we have common White names?
Any info you might have would be appreciated.
