Connie,
Thanks so much for the info you provided on my grandfather, Thomas Franklin White. Here is the answers to your questions:
--I haven't found a Draft Card for Thomas Franklin White.
--No to the red hair, Thomas Franklin had very dark hair. I was always told he was of Cherokee descent, and we have the dark hair, dark skin & high cheek bones to prove it!
--Grandfather was a farmer, don't think he would have worked with hotels.
--Haven't filed for SS App, but I do plan to.
--I've seen that 1900 Census Larkinsville, Jackson, Alabama, very very possible this is his family. But I have nothing to connect them to us. That's why I keep posting any and everywhere, hoping someone will see something and will jar a memory!
--Chester is not dead! He is in a nursing home, born 1922, lives in AL.
Where is the SSDI for Francis White? I found one that I think could be her's as well. It lists her as MRS. T.F. WHITE, DOD 12 Mar 1937 (which is what day my father thinks she died), Seminole County, GA, Certificate: 7587. I really think this is her, but I have never found any marriage records for her and Thomas Franklin White.
I've made several post about WHITE's on Genforum, here is a link to see one of them. http://genforum.genealogy.com/ga/messages/27545.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/ga/messages/27545.html
I have several post in ancestry under my ID white3377. What you sent to me, I am grateful for! Thank you!
