BAD MORALS of WASHOE -- On the 16th of November a man named Richard GALLAGHER was shot dead at the village of Geneva, Washoe, by a man nicknamed Frenchy. Cause -- GALLAGHER was trying to claim Frenchy's horse. On the next day the Coroner of Virginia City held an inquest over the body of Ellen WHITE, a courtezan, who had died 3 weeks before from the effects of kicks administered by a scape-grace named ARMSTRONG. The jury after taking evidence and making a post mortem examination of the body, found that one Dr. WILSON, who had attended the woman in her illness from the injuries received, was an accessory to her murder, and held him to answer in bonds of $5,000. Washoe seems to be repeating all the crimes which damned the early years of California.
