Hi Tom, I am replying to your post about Lydia White. Unfortunately when I first started doing genealogy I copied lots of other people's work without checking it or noting the source. Now I can't remember where I first found that my ancestor (joseph white jones) was the daughter of Lydia White. I had always known he was the son of Hugh. I have been to Green county, Ga and copied records of Hugh's estate. I also found this record of Joseph White leaving Lydia a Negro girl. "21 December, 1794 Joseph White of Anson County, N.C. for love and affection of my loving daughter Lydia Jones of Green County, Ga. a Negro girl named Diner about 15 years; witness Zachry White, William White Anson Co., Proved 13 Aug 1797" In my copied records I have Betsy married first to Joseph Green and second to John Willingham. This could be wrong or John Martin could be a third husband. I would love to hear more from you. Thanks, Penny Notify Administrator about this message?
