Obituary General Thomas White
"DIED, at his seat (Spring Grove) in Virginia, on the morning of the 21st March last GENERAL THOMAS WHITE, in the 67th year of his age. His death was occasioned by a fall twelve days previous from a flight of high steps. He faithfully served his country in the revolutionary war [and] was at the closing scene at Yorktown; was many years a representative in the Virginia General Assembly; and through most of his life an able and active Justice of the Peace. An affectionate husband, a tender parent, a kind neighbor and an indulgent master, he has left a disconsolate widow, nine children and a numerous circle of friends to mourn their loss. He was a sincere believer in Christianity and died with the utmost severity."
