That would make us cousins-
Edwin John married Emma Jones and had Henry Cyril, Charles Osborn, Robert Gordon, Dorothy Mary, Margaret ( Daisy?) Florence Maud ( my grandmother) and George.
In the 1891 census they lived at Middle Aston, Oxfordshire.
A Catherine Witcomb born Doulting was a visitor in the household in 1891 also. Occupation nurse.
In 1881 Edwin John and Emma were newley wed and living at Craycombe Lodge, Fladbury, Worcester.She was born in Lindridge but they married in Shirebrook Derby, were she was living at the time. A Seaward G Whitcomb witnessed the marriage and later married the other witness- Louisa Perkins. Seaward was living with a Clayton family in Norton Worcester in 1881.
Florence married Sydney William Gardiner and had my Dad - Harry Nicholas John, Catherine Mary ( Judy) Pamela Dorothy, Patrick Edwin and Richard George.
I have dates of course but better send those if you give me your address- will copy everything I have on the Witcombs and send. I am afraid I am stalled at Doulting.
The book I mentioned was the Book of Common Prayer and said Best Wishes Jesper and Roxanne Whitcomb- W Vaughn Yarworth Then in different hand and red pencil- St John Baptist 1842.
