From Allan M. Wilson (grandson of Chase Roy Whitcher)
Yes, Chase Roy Whitcher is my grandfather and as you noted in your posting, my records also indicate he was born Dec 8, 1876, in Lisborn, N.H.
He died Aug 25, 1940 in Manchaster N.H.My mother was Pheeb, one of his only two daughters who married Arthur Rowe Wilson also of Manchaster.I have three sisters, Sue, Pam and Sandy Wilson.Muriel, is my aunt, who although married had no children.
Chase was an extreemly prominent Architect -- some of his works include the Balsams in Dixville Notch, N.H., the Princess Hotel in Bermuda, the High School and Masonic Temple in Manchaster and many state buildings throught New Hampshire.I have much information about him and some of his predecesors.
How are you related to him? With a middle name of Whitcher, our family names must connect not too far back.
I am quite new to this genalogy "thing" and it was by pure chance I entered the fact that I come from the Whitcher family several months ago into Genealogy.com.I am not sure of the protocal to follow, but if wou want, you can email me direct at [email protected] for more data.
I am quite surprised to receive a response to my query, thank you very much.
