Thomas Whitcher, 1733; Highway robbery
In the summer of 1733 in the English county of Berkshire a Thomas Whitcher was convicted of highway robbery and was reprieved on condition of transportation to the American colonies for 14 years. It is not recorded where he was sent but in the 1730s the southern colonies of America were the principal place of delivery.I suspect that if he has descendants they may spell their name Witcher.Does anyone know what became of this man in America?
