Well, I have learned he was not a bigamist, but he was certainly an all-time champion LIAR!!!! Finally learned my Clarence Lee Whitbeck died in the Mercy Home, North Bend, Coos CO OR, in 1951. I do know both of his sons drank--Walter occasionally, and Frank to excess. My Mother never drank, other than the occasional hot toddy her father made for her when she was ill. I don't think any of my uncles or my aunt drank, either. I am one of eight children, and one of my brothers was a confirmed alcoholic in his early twenties. I figure I am an alcoholic, I just never, ever drink. We get plenty of genetic input from all branches of the family!

Clarence's death certificate included information from his welfare files, and he had convinced them he was born in 1854, when in reality, it was 1867. Not the only lie I have found, by any means...

Great to hear that one can overcome!!!
