I am descended from a Richard WHITTAKER of RAWTENSTALL who married Elizabeth HOWORTH (or HAWORTH) 24 Dec 1721. It is believed he died about 1754-1756 (See Will Summary Below)
I am looking for anyone who has a Richard WHITTAKER of RAWTENSTALL, Forest of Rossendale in their genealogy.
I am looking for anyone who has WHITTAKER connections for this time period in CRAWSHAWBOOTH, HENHEADS, OAKENHILWOOD, CONSTABLEE, GOODSHAW OR simply "FOREST OF ROSSENDALE" DURING THE 16TH, 17TH, 18TH centuries.
According to the Haslingden Parish Registers (1603-1698) there were several men by the name Richard WHITTAKER in the Forest of Rossendale during this time frame.
1632: Ricus WHITACAR of RATTONSTALL (he is buried 1669) married Letic HEY (she is buried 1667).
1640: Richard WHITACAR is a Churchwarden
1678: Richard WHITECRE married Anna OMERODE
Possible Issue: Elizabeth bap. 1682
1711: Richard WHITAKER of RAWTENSTALL married Jenet HAWORTH (she is buried 1719)
Possible Issue: Henry (bur. 1716)
Possible Issue: Lawrence (bur. 1720)
1721: Richard WHITTAKER** of RAWTENSTALL married Elizabeth HOWORTH Issue: Lawrence (1722) Richard (1724) Ann (buried 1729)
1721: Richard WHITTAKER of CRAWSHAWBOOTH married Alice POLLARD. Issue: Margere (1722) Elizabeth (1723) Mary (1725) James (1728)

NOTE: A Richard WHITTAKER of RAWTENSTALL is the executor of the will dated 1727 of John HAWORTH who held lands in CONSTABLEE, WOLFENDEN, CRAWSHAWBOOTH, and HENHEADS. Richard's daughters Ann and Sara are mentioned as is a Lawrence WHITTAKER and a John WHITTAKER of HENHEADS.
