WHITACRE/WATSON MARRIAGE POSSIBLY DURHAM
Posted by: Jeanne Bell (ID *****4246) Date: December 30, 2010 at 22:45:00

Hi, I'm chasing marriage and birth information for 4th GGparents WHITEFIELD WATSON who married ELIZABETH WHITACRE (BIT HARD TO READ THAT ONE), AND possibly in Stanhope, Durham. I have the names from their son Joseph's death certificate.

Joseph died in New Cumnock Scotland in April 1900 aged 67. So, born around 1833, possibly married from 1850's onwards AND IN DURHAM?? Their son - another Whitefield Watson,b N Cumnock, married Elizabeth Walker, also born New Cumnock, who are my 3x great grandparents in New Cumnock and they raised their family there, including my GGndfather Whitefield Watson (and there's heaps of them).

I'm very keen to find someone who has info on these families, particularly (but not only) ELIZABETH WHITACRE. (SP UNCLEAR) More than happy to share what Watson stuff I have.

Thanks
Jeanne Bell NZ
