Shirley,...If you haven't seen it, there is an article in the book SETTLEMENT OF SOME FIRST FAMILIES OF BACK CREEK VALLEY by Wilmer L. Kerns page 222. It is re: Abraham Kackley (1771-1849). "Abraham, son of Elias and Catherine Kackley was born at North Mountain, Frederick County Oct 31, 1771 and died June 15, 1849, in Hampshire County. He married Christina Wessent ( a German name sometimes spelled Whissen or Whisner), on Nov 26, 1793. She was born circa 1775 and was alive when the 1850 census was taken in Hampshire County." It goes on discussing Abraham's house etc and there is a picture of it in the book. If you haven't seen it or can't find it in the library, I would be glad to copy the page and send it to you. I can't help but think my Catherine Whissen b.before 1786, is related to this couple, but I can find no documentation.---Beth
