John Whisnant and Elizabeth Carpenter who lived somewhere between Ellenboro and Fallston NC were parents of Christinia Whisnant who married James Bibby (children Susannah, Maryann,and John Bibby), and John Whisnant whose wife was Alpha L. (a son, Grover Whisnant). My interest is in finding descendants of James Bibby and Christinia who know James Bibby's lineage. He was possibly a grandson of British Loyalist Lt.John Bibby who was executed by hanging in October 1780 at Biggerstaff Old Fields near Sunshine/ Bostic NC. I know James, husband of Christinia, died as a POW at Point Lookout, Maryland June 12, 1864 as a confederate soldier in Co.K 16th Reg. NC Troops. Anyone who knows for sure if James Bibby was a descendant of Lt. John Bibby, please respond.
