My father, Brady Allon Whisnant (Whisenant--they dropped the "e") was born in Pisgah, AL in 1903 to Lant and Sarah Whisnant. Lant was the son of one of three German brothers who immigrated her from Germany in the late 1700's or early to mid 1800's -- they landed in South Carolina, then parted company. One brother stayed in the Carolina region, a second brother settled in the NE Alabama area, and the third brother settled in Meridian, MS where he eventually set up/owned a large feed/grain supply. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of those three brothers. But if your family was from the Carolinas, then your founding ancestor was probably that one brother who stayed in that region.
