I have a copy of a few pages from "Whisnants through the Ages" (which can be found in some libraries" and the info is very hard to understand.
There are 2 Adam Whisenants and people have confused the info on them, according to the book, for years. One Adam lived in Carroll Co., Ga. (page 4).He was born circa 1769 in Lincoln Co., N.C.His wife's name was Barbara.
The Adam Whisonant of Habersham Co., Ga. had a wife named Charity.(This is the Adam that is my ggggrandfather). He was married to Charity and living with their dau Jemima Thomas in 1850.(I am desc thru Jemima W. Thomas).
The only place I see the name Eaker or Baker in the pages I have is on p. 3. I do not see the name Etris. And, at this moment, I honestly cannot make clear in my mind anything except perhaps she was desc from an Adam who died before March 21, 1801.
I have a copy of only 2 pages from the book "Carpenters A Plenty" which has has info on my Adam Whisenhunt on page 35.On those 2 pages I do not see any variation of the name Etris.
The only way I have helped, I suppose, is to tell you what I have NOT found.Wish I could have helped.
