My name is Dana Shawn Whisenant Grider. I have been trying to track down info on my Dad's side of the family. He told me a few days ago that our name used to be Visenant (unsure of the spelling) and that we came from Germany or Austria he was not sure. It seems from your message that you have ancestors with that same name. My grandfather's name was Sherman Whisenant from Arkansas born 1908. My grandmother is Eula Small Whisenant also from Arkansas. My grandfather had many siblings including twin sisters but I don't know their names. I believe he had a sister named Dorothy and a brother named Clarence but those are the only names I have. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
