Samuel Etris born May 17, 1779 died April 16, 1841 in Lumpkin Co, Georgia buried Tesnatee Cemetery White Co, Georgia, married Barbara A Whisenant born March 19, 1781 South Carolina died April 13, 1859 Lumpkin Co, Georgia buried at Tesnatee Cemetery, White Co., Ga. I believe that she was a sister to Adam and John Nicholas Whisenant and also the Jacob that was in Franklin Co, Ga. They moved to
Habersham Co, Ga by the 1830 census from the 1820 census they were in Pendleton Dist., SC. 1810 Lincoln Co, NC.
From the bible of Samuel and Barbara Etris they were married December 14. 1802. Samuel was the son of Henry Etters Senior, name has many spelling, of York Co, South Carolina. I believe she was the daughter of John Nicholas Whisenant and Mary Carpenter.
John Nicholas Whisenant
BIRTH: 30 JUN 1743, Lancaster Co., PA
DEATH: 19 APR 1831, York Co., SC
BURIAL: Antioch Bap. Ch., Blacksburg, Cherokee Co., SC.
But no records can be found to prove this.
All the records I have are copies of the pages from the family bible.
I just got copies of the estate records of Samuel Etris 1841, Adam Whisenant was one of the name on the papers who bought some of the estate of Samuel Etris. Would like to find more on Barbara Whisenant Etris. On a lot of the records in South Carolina and North Carolina, they appear on many deeds together. Also some records in the early 1800's in Franklin Co, Ga.:
