I am a 4gr grandson of Adam & Charity Whisenant. They lived on Cedar Mountain in Lumpkin Co., GA which is about 10 miles north of Dahlonega, the county seat, where I live.
Charity died in 1851 and is buried at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lumpkin Co.After her death Adam sold all his land to my Gr Gr Grandfather Nathan Wilkins who had married his granddaughter, and moved to Habersham Co. to live with his son Peter. With some 30 miles separating the 2 counties I rather doubt that Adam was brought back to Lumpkin for burial. That would have been a 2 day trip in the 1860s.There is no marked grave for him beside Charity.I think that most likely he was buried in Habersham Co,; however, no marked grave can be found there either.
I would love to hear from any cousins.
