I think I've discovered the broken branch in our tree. Clarence's father's name was Benjamin and his mother was Vera. My father, Garry, told me he thought that our name was originally spelled Whisenhunt but that Benjamin changed it to Whisenant after shooting someone. My Dad also told me that he thought that one of our ancestors was Indian or part Indian. It turns out that Benjamin Whisenhunt was born on an Indian Reservation in Oklahoma in 1886, the year Clarence's father was born. I've posted what I know on my website here. It would be great to hear from you if possible.
