Whipple Family Genealogy Forum

Thank you for posting that clarification. I have searched all of the Spencer/Whipple connections and there are many within the RI Whipples but can find no connection. No doubt the three Spencer boys were nephews of Henry Whipple as Jacob was listed as his nephew in 1880 but I cannot find any Whipple sibling married to a Spencer. It is possible that the Spencers were related through Henry's wife Sarah. In 1860 Alzina Smith, who is Henry Whipple's sister-in-law, is living with Jacob Spencer Sr. She is living with Henry Whipple in the 1870 census. Although the ages are a little off, I believe this is probably the same Alzina. If She was Sarah's sister (wife of Henry) I cannot find her record. Henry Whipple's family came from RI and his wife Sarah's parents came from CT and RI. As for Phebe Wood I do not find she was related to Henry Whipple. She does not seem to be in the age range to have been the mother of the Spencer boys. I did not find any Spencers buried with Sarah and do not know where Henry was buried. If you have a date of death of any of the Spencer boys your best bet would be to write for their death record and find out where they are buried. Cemetery records often have more information than the town clerk birth records. Sorry I could not be of more help. Good luck in your research.
