I have only just discovered this website re WHILLOCK.
If you are descended from Anne Whillock who married Philip Herbert then we are distant cousins because my g'g'g'g'g'grandmother was Anne's sister Dorothy Whillock (bapt Stanway 2/3/1726). She married Robert Hawker in Saintbury (near Stanway) in 1760. There was a lot of confusion and overlap between the names Hawker and Harker. Dorothy was buried in Stanway in 1803 as Dorothy Harker and I am descended from her son Robert Harker ( bapt Saintbury 1766). I have traced 7 lines of descent from him 4 x Harker and 3 x Hawker.
George Whillock who married Eleanor Iszard (Izod) in Kemerton in 1721 was from Stanway and is the same George Whillock who had the children in Stanway from 1722 and they WERE the parents of George who married Rachel Smewing (not Smearing) in 1749 and Cyprian who married Jane Cheslin. I have got stuck with George in 1721 and know nothing about him before then.
Eleanor Izod was the 6th daughter of Thomas Izod and his wife Anne and was baptized in Stanway 19th January 1695. Anne died in 1697, I think in childbirth having daughter no7. Thomas remarried and had another daughter - 8 daughters and no sons! He was a blacksmith and died in 1720 and was buried in Stanway.
As you say they seem to have disappeared from Stanway in the 19th Century. The last one I know of seems to have been Cyprian George and Eleanor's son, Cyprian, who was buried in Stanway in 1823 aged 85 according to the burial register (actually 86). I think his married daughter, Jane Whitford, was still living in Stanway then but I have lost track of her.
