HELP! 18th Century Whiley/Websters,from NY to IL
Have just learned that my gggrandmother Polly was a Whiley. She and Chauncey Webster re-located from NY state, settling in Iroquois Co, IL about 1830 with many children. It is beleived that they lived in the Niagara Falls area prior to moving west. Some of the older children's names were Caroline, Orlow, Armenia, Louisa, Lovina and Hiram. Chauncey is found (with wife)as head of a household of 17 in the Illinois 1840 census. We know that Polly was the mother of my ggrandfather Henry Clayton Webster, born late 1842. Polly may have died in that childbirth. Any clue would help!
