I have read with interest all the detail of the name Whigham in the Usa.
I have charted the Whigham line in Scotland back to 1716,indeed with a little luck I may be able to connect it to 1690.
In 1716 there is a James Whigham living in Kirkliston and married to an Agnes Stewert they had a son Henry who married and Marion Glasgow.
Now all the first names I see in the American familys seem to be similar and crop up each generation in the Scottish ones ie JAMES,THOMAS,WILLIAM,JANE ETC.
The name is not a common one in Scotland so it is easy to trace.I live in New Zealand but will be returning to Scotland and will be resuming my searches.
I am certain that Thomas Whigham cica 1733-90 is an ancestor.Sure there were some Whighams in Ireland in the 1800's but I have liked them with the Scottish ones .
If anyone has more info about Thomas Whigham of Georgia then please get in touch.
If there is a connection then I am able to give a fairly comprenesive account of the Scottish Whighams up to the present date.
Look forward to hearing from some of you..
