I don't absolutely rule out anything, but I don't accept things without some proof. In my eight years of research of the Whiddon family I have never seen any evidence that Dicy's name was Huxford. But I'm open if someone has any proof.
John H. Whiddon son of Eli and Dicy is mentioned in a number of records in Decatur Co., Ga and Hillsborough Co., FL and as far as I can determine the H. is never identified as standing for Huxford.
I have visited the Old Darlington District Genealogical Society in Hartsville as well as the Darlington County Historical Commission in Darlington and found no reference to Huxford in relation the the Whiddon family at either place. I have the skinner index files for Whiddon and variant spellings therof. They make no mention of the name Huxford.
If you find something to prove Dicy's name was Huxford, it will be a great revelation.
