His parents were Silas F Whiddon, b. 10-6-1852, and Sarah Ann
Tanner. Silas was the sone of Eli Ballard Whiddon, b. 3-27-1820, who was the son of Dempsey Whiddon Sr, b. 3-8-1782, Nash Co NC, son of Revolionary War soldier William Whiddon, b. 1755, Edgecombe, NC.
