There was a Bennett Whiddon, supposedly the son of Eli and Dicy Whiddon of Decatur Co., Ga. and who served in Lewis Gregory's mtd volunteers at Tallahassee in 1826. He got a land grant at Gretna P.O. in 1827. He apparently died prior to 1848 as his supposed brother, John H. Whiddon filed his will in Hillsborough Co. in 1848 leaving everything to his siblings but Bennett was not mentioned. Know little else about him but he is a curiosity.
