Gordon. I can cofnrim the marriage as it appears in the Brenchley Marriage Register. How it fits in with my family is another issue. Are there any unusual names that appear or did Mary have any brothers or sisters? Most of the researchers I have spoken to are related in some way. I met a Mrs Rabbit at brenchley a few years ago and her husband's ancestor married a Whibley. She told me that they were a family of mixed fortunes. Some of them were quite wealthy landowners (backed up by the evidence I have seen from wills etc) and others were working folk. Brenchley is a small village in Kent quite near Maidstone. It remains a small place and is very very beautiful. When I went there I felt as if I fianlly knew where I came from if that makes any sense. The Wyble family (the name changed a lot in the early years as people spelled phonetically!) appear from almost page 1 of the parish registers. Unfortunately the records for pre-1560 were lost in a fire in Victorian times. I will keep my eyes and ears open and let you have any more information as it materialises. In the meantime, if you have any other clues please let me know!
Great to hear from a fellow researcher and GOOD LUCK!
