The person you refer to was most likely my greatgrand father born circa 1875 in Bridgeport Ct.He was a drummer boy in the Spanish American War.I am proud to have his drum from that war. His father, also George E Whetstine was the first German imigrant to the area, probably about 1850 and he held the first salon license in Bridgeprt, opening a beer garden in the mid 1800's.The subject had one son, my father, also George E Whetstine, who also had one son,the writer, also George E Whetstine, and I have a son, fill in the name, who to date as not seen fit to continue the tradition. But, as he has been married less ten two years we have not despaired yet.Hope this information has been helpfull to you. Good luck with your research. Keep me posted if you come upon further information you think would be of intrest to me. Regards Geo. E Whetstine Jr.
