Edgar Theodore Wherry
Several years ago I purchased a plant called "Wherry Flower", also know as "Foam Flower"; the botanical name is "Tiarella wherryi".Contact with the supplier found that it was so named because Edgar Theodore Wherry, born in 1885, discovered it in the Appalachian area. Now, my daughter has found a book on wild flowers for auction on the internet, written by Edgar T. Wherry, published in 1948.This gentlemen is probably a member of the Wherry's who settled in Virginia at a later date than David and Mary Wherry arrived in Pennsylvania. So, members of that family may be interested in his book.
