Looking for descendants of John Whelpley born about 1833 in New York City. His mother was Abigail Walker Whelpley and his father was Daniel H. Whelpley, who left the family about 1836. No record of a divorce. He married Hypagia Harris in Natchez in 1846. They were in CA by 1850. Abigail is shown in the NY census in 1850 as a widow with her sons Albert and John and a Lorenzo Walker. She and Albert moved to Cincinatti, OH by 1860. No record of John after the 1850 in NY. Possibility he was in CA in the 1860's.
