I have a newpaper photo (Utica Observer, Utica, NY Oneida County) of Martin Wheelock dated October 27, 1900 captioned: CRACK FOOT-BALL PLAYERS OF THE CARLISLE INDIAN SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHED IN THEIR GRIDIRON GARB

The article is about the Harvard-Carlisle Indian School game played a Carlisle. Email me your address and I'll drop a copy in the mail.

I've been working on geneology of the Oneidas of NY since my father died in 1993. Several trips to the National Archives in Washington DC produced some great info. The information on the Wisconsin Oneidas was incredible - the school records actually had pictures of some of the children, lots of civil war lists (which I have a copy of too). It would be well worth anyone's time to make the trip.
