Trying to find the parentage of Charles Wheeler, born 1800, in GA, possibly Burke County. His sisters were Sarah, who m. Robert Douglas, and Nancy, who m. Isaiah Taylor. He gave three of his sons the middle name of McCollister. I'm thinking maybe that there is a connection to David Lee who m. a daughter of John McCollister from Lynche's Creek area. There seems to be a remote Lee/Wheeler connection from Barnwell District, SC. Charles m. Jane(Jincy)Taylor from Burke County. There is a William Wheeler to had a plat on Cane Creek in Craven County in 1771, bounding land belonging to John Wheeler. I think a James Lee had land on Cane Creek, as well. William then received a grant in Burke County, GA in 1787. He was next to Stephen Wheeler in the 1805 Lottery in Burke County.
