I'm trying to determine the parents of my 3rd great grandfather Luther Goodell who was born in either 1824 or 1826 in Woodbury,VT He may have been the son of Abram & Betsy (Wheeler) Goodell.Luther married my 3rd great grandma Harriet M. Byam.
I've found many Wheelers and Goodells in Woodbury and towns near Woodbury including in the census records in the 1800's but so far haven't been able to connect them to my Luther Goodell. I did find an Abram listed in the 1830 census for Woodbury with a child who would have been the right age to be my Luther but unfortunately no names were given on this census.
Betsy Wheeler could be the same Betsy Wheeler who was listed as Comfort Wheeler's 7 year old daughter or she could be the daughter of another Wheeler who is related somehow to Comfort. Does anyone know who Betsy Wheeler,daug. of Comfort,married? Or do any of the above people sound familiar?
Any help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.
