Mrs. Bobby Earl Wheeler, Jr.
Kellie Lane Dail and Bobby Earl Wheeler, Jr. were united in marriage at two o'clock in the afternoon on October 18, 2003, at the Speed Baptist Church in Speed, N.C.
The bride wore a long formal white gown made by Mori Lee of New York. The sweeping train dress had a beaded halter neckline accenting the banding of the scoop neck that was beautifully trimmed with bugle beads, pearls and sequins. The bustier top was accented with vertical bands of trim and featured an open back. The top overlays a simple controlled A-line skirt with a stunning court train featuring inverted pleats in the back trimmed with beading matching the bodice and covered buttons to the hem of the skirt. The Reverend Calvin Lee officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her step-father James Allen Dennie, Jr. and given in marriage by her mother and step father.
The bride is the daughter of Allen and Judy Dennie of Conetoe. She is the grand-daughter of James and Mary Dennie of Tarboro and Oscar and Betty Brown of Conetoe. The bride is also the grand-daughter of Mrs. Lena Dail and the late Ernest Dail of Conetoe.
The groom is the son of Delphia Sipe and step father Mike Sipe of Speed. The groom's father is Bobby Wheeler of Elm City.
Carla Dennie, sister of the bride, of Greenville, N.C. was the bride's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Courtney Ruffin of Tarboro and Ashley Myers of Speed. Junior Bridesmaid was Chelsea Combs of Tarboro. Flower girl was Erica Woody of Hobgood.
Frankie Lee, cousin of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Josh Combs of Tarboro; Mike Sipe and James Lee, both of Speed.
Miss Lauryn Dennie, of Tarboro, served as greeter and register attendant at the church. Greeters for the reception were Mr. & Mrs. Laddie M. Crisp, aunt and uncle of the bride, of Rocky Mount. Punch was served at the reception by Ms. Rhonda Jones Dennie and Mrs. Paula Ruffin, both of Tarboro. The wedding director was Mrs. Samuel J. Crews of Tarboro.
Wedding music was provided by Laurene Williamson of Tarboro and vocals were provided by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee, both of Speed.
The bride is a graduate of Tarboro-Edgecombe Academy and is currently enrolled in the Nursing Program at Edgecombe Community college. She is also employed as a receptionist and Nursing Assistant II at the Fountains at the Albemarle in Tarboro. She is also a volunteer for the Conetoe Fire/EMS Department. The groom is a graduate of Tarboro High School and is a Lineman for Edgecombe Martin Electric Membership in Tarboro. The groom is also the Chief of the Speed Fire Department.
Immediately following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at the Speed Ruitan Building. This event was catered by Mrs. Linda Meeks of Conetoe. After a wedding trip to Historic Raleigh and the North Carolina State Fair, the couple will reside in Tarboro.
After rehearsal dinner and Southern Pig Pickin was hosted by Delphia and Mike Sipe and family at the Speed Fire Department. Traditional Southern Country decor was the central theme for the dinner.
Bridal Luncheon was held at Stacks in Tarboro and hosted by Mrs. Amy Combs of Tarboro. The bridal party was presented gifts given by the bride and her mother Mrs. Judy Dennie.
A Pre-wedding shower hosted by Carla Dennie, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Allen Dennie, Jr., in Conetoe was held on September 21, 2003.
A Miscellaneous shower hosted by Delphia Sipe and held at Northern Boulevard Church in Tarboro, was given on September 14, 2003.
A Bridal Shower hosted by Nora Mears and held at the Fountains of the Albemarle in Tarboro, was given on July 10, 2003.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hush of Sykesville, Maryland; Mr. and Mrs. Laddie M. Crisp of Rocky Mount; Mr. and Mrs. John Reidy of Raleigh; and Mrs. Eugene Speed of Emerald Isle.
