George Wheeler ENG>MA, m. Katherine Pin

Here is my line. Does anyone have info on George's family? Is there a book that would have this information? Someone sent me the info about George Wheeler and Wm and Sarah Fletcher Wheeler, but has not told me the source info yet. My source for the generations of Wm. and Jemima Plumb Wheeler, Wm. and Mary Hotchkiss Wheeler, and Wm. and Hila Curtiss Wheeler is "Ancient Families of New Haven" by Jacobus. I do not posess a copy but have been told that they are included. I have pictures of Hila Wheeler as well as of her tombstone, and have information written by Jessie Wheeler Shipman about Wm and Diana Makyes Wheeler's marriage. She was their daughter.

First Generation:
George & Katherine (Pin) Wheeler of England, then Concord MA. He was b. early 1600s and very involved in early Concord.

Second Generation
William Wheeler, born 8 Feb 1665 Concord MA died 29 Mar 1752 at Concord buried at Hill Cemetery in Concord. Married Sarah Fletcher 17 May 1692 daughter of Francis & Elizabeth (Wheeler) Fletcher born 22 Feb 1668.

Third Generation
William Wheeler, born 5 Dec 1697 at Milford CT, married Jemima Plumb born 25 Nov 1705, and she died in September of 1744.

Fourth Generation
William Wheeler, b. before 1735, d. June 9, 1798, married Mary Hotchkiss January 10, 1760. Mary was born June 5, 1739, and died October 29, 1810.

1. *William, b. October 29, 1778, d. May 18, 1823, married Hila Curtiss December 25, 1799
2. Kate, b. April 24 (no year given) married Mr. Brainerd
3. Lucina,married Mr. Smith

Married Hila Curtiss, December 25, 1799. Hila was born October 22, 1782 in Burlington, Connecticut. Her parents were Simeon and Elizabeth Sledge Curtiss

Sixth Generation
William R. Wheeler, b. August 10, 1810 at Bristol, Connecticut; d. September 10, 1885, Mills County, Iowa. Married Phoebe Diana Makyes, July 16, 1831, Onondaga County, New York. Diana was born October 25, 1813, d. January 25, 1895. Diana's parents were Storrs and Rebecca Smith Makyes. She had brothers Stores, Smith, Edwin, and Amos.
Children, all born St. Joseph County, Michigan:

William Edward, b. about 1832, died in infancy. Has distinction of being the first white child born in Flowerfield Township, Flowerfield, Michigan.

Daniel Hotchkiss, b. November 26, 1834, d. November 29, 1912. Was Secretary of Agriculture in Nebraska, and Wheeler County, Nebraska is named for him. He married Charlotta Lewis. Children: Daniel Jr., A. H., Myron, William Herbert, Frank L.

Sybil Jane, b. November 13, 1846, d. November 28, 1919. Married Judge Lewis Tubbs October 1, 1853 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Children: Wallace W., b January 18, 1859, d. December 18, 1860; Lizzie J., b. October 1, 1861; d. October 3, 1861; Hattie M., b. May 18, 1866; d. July 26, 1946. Married Marion L. Evans; William Lester, b. Aprl 17, 1855, d. June 11, 1911; Alice N., b. April 26, 1857; d. July 9, 1930; Mary D., b. October 3, 1862; d. January 4, 1951. Married Edward Birdsall; Edna Bertha, b. 1874; d. 1946. Married W. G. Alexander; Ray Burney, b. 1879; d. 1951. Married Ethel Perses Updyke
       
Lucy Clarissa, b. June 26, 1838; d. August 9, 1890. Married Milo Fellows December 24, 1857
Children: Frances B. (Frankie), b. May 6, 1862. Married Charles Rice, September 1, 1883; Clara A., b. February 12, 1867; d. March 4, 1867; Lottie E., b. September 12, 1868; d. July 24, 1869; Milo B., b. 1872

Theda Marie, b. August 5, 1841, d. September 13, 1922. Married Henry Pomroy Coolidge August 5,
1857. He was a son of Joseph Wellington and Elizabeth Buchanan Coolidge.
Children: Eva, died in infancy; Eddie, died in infancy; Lester Joseph, married, lost wife in childbirth, daughter Elaine. Elaine married Lemoine Van Houten 1943.

Volney Challendge, died in infancy

Mary, b. November 6, 1843; d. April 8, 1931. Married (1st) Austin W. Guilford, September 2, 1863 in Michigan. Separated. Married (2nd) James Miller Strahan, 1889 in Iowa.
Children, all with Austin W. Guilford:
Jessie D., b. March 1, 1865; d. 1933. Married (1st)Frank Byers, widowed. Married Alonzo Ring 1888.
Ella Lodema, b. December 25, 1867; d. December 3, 1899. Married Fred Rumsey. Died as a result of an infection in her foot after stepping on a nail. Likely tetanus.
Chatta Estella, b. March 12, 1870; d. March 6, 1899. Died as a result of burns received from an explosion at her gasoline stove. A daughter may also have died.
Lizzie Diana, d. July 12, 1872; d. June 2, 1930. Married James Eddy Cleaver November 11, 1891.

Married (2nd) Elizabeth Wannow, married (3rd) Julia Hendrickson Beckwith.

Mary Wheeler, b. November 6, 1843; d. April 8, 1931. Married (1st) Austin W. Guilford, September 2, 1863 in Michigan. Separated. Married (2nd) James Miller Strahan, 1889 in Iowa. Note about Mary: Later in life had a talking parrot.

Helen Louise, b. April 10, 1896 in Mills County, Iowa (My great grandmother)
