Hi Philip,
I know nothing of ELIJAH AND am hoping that WANDA sends a picture.
I am completely bewildered abt my line and can get no further than my ggrandfather born in 1829 SC and my ggrandmother born in 1833 NC; I know that my ggrandmother
was NativeAmerican but have no clue whether my ggrandfather
was also, but he is listed as Black; the family were slaves
I believe in SC and are first found in 1870 Wilmington, NC.
What I believe has happened over the generation is that some ancestors passed for white as I find some in SC who are listed as octoroons.
I have yet to make ANY CONNECTIONS, NOR does ANYONE acknowledge kinship to my line????
