Hi Beverley, I realise that the following info probably has nothing to do with your tree, but sometimes a straw turns into a branch-so here goes.
Mt Great Grandfather was Thomas Wheeldon born in Buxton, Derbyshire around 1860, he later moved to Manchester. He was married three times and was a strict catholic he had 13 children, Joseph, (sorry not your Grandad as died much earlier), Edith, Agnes, Thomas, Frank, May, Annie, Emma and Jane, I have yet to to find out the other names.
We think that Thomas (the elder) had siblings called Annie, Jane and Joseph.
The Friends Reunited site now also has a geneaolgy section
and its is £7.00 to join, there is a message on there from Verna Maltby looking for Joseph Wheeldon born in Derby 1924-1930, he moved to Yeovil to live with his sister when he was 12.
I hope that maybe this has been some help to you as I know that it is soul destroying when you keep researching and keep hitting brick walls.
