>>>Daniel Wheaton, born 1821, Taymouth Twp. Michigan, married Louise (Fisher), born 1827 aslo in Taymouth twp. Would like to know their actual dates of birth, and their parents's names. For Daniel, I have his father as being someone named "Chemegas" a Chippewa Indian, and that is all I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.<<<
Well, a reply that is five years later is better than none at all, I suppose.lol!
The best place you will find information about Daniel D. Wheaton (originally "Whedon") of Taymouth, son of Chemegas (also Chimegas or George Whedon), short of contacting the current Taymouth Wheaton descendents of course, would be the Stockwell Mudd Libraries (Special Collections) at Albion College in Albion, Michigan.
Specifically, a book authored by Ronald Brunger titled "The History of the Taymouth Methodist Indian Mission" published in 1974.Brunger's book gives what is probably the most detailed accounting available of Daniel Wheaton (Ash-a-dah-ne-qua-beh) and the Taymouth Indian Mission.
Also see:
"Methodist Indian Ministries in Michigan: 1830 to 1990"by Dorothy Reuter, assisted by Ronald Brunger (1993).
An Albion College historian should be able to help, as Daniel Wheaton attended the Methodist Wesleyan Seminary at Albion (1850~1851), which many years later would become Albion College.
