My great-grandfather was John Wheaton, born in Provo, Utah. His stepfather, surname Bush or Brush, left Provo, Utah into San Bernardino valley. Brought Wheaton step-children. Farmed in what is now the Van Lueven tract of Redlands, CA. John Wheaton then went west to Anaheim, CA. Homesteaded property where Disneyland is. There my Grandfather, John Wheaton (II) and 5 brothers were born and reared. There were also two girls who died in infancy. The brothers were: Charlie, Allen, George, John, Ernest, Jesse. Jesse died in 1918 flu epidemic while in the army stationed in Washington State.
My Grandfather, John Wheaton (II) left Anaheim about age 19 returned to Redlands where he lived until he died in 1965. Married Elizabeth Mechaelis (don't know dates). Their son, my father, Elmer Ray (or Rhea) Wheaton, born July 17, 1909 died June 25, 1983. Married Leona Opal Guerry February 28, 1928 in Redlands. Mama will be 93 in November.
