re: William Wheaton and son George Miller Wheaton

Help-!
I am looking for William Wheaton, born in North River, NB , in the early 1800's, married Mary, and the father of George Miller Wheaton,
In George M Wheaton's obituary of July 8, 1915, Saint John Times, it names George M Wheaton, born about 1846 according to his death certificate, and on his headmarker is named Allan Wheaton born & died same date, 1915. In obituary it names as son, Allan John Wheaton born 1875, who happens to be my husband's grandparents, which is correct.
I have done a lot of research and it appears that he also
used the name Allan Wheaton, as that is how it was registered in Cedar Hill Cemetery records. It appears Allan
was born on the same day as George M Wheaton, in the same
location of Salisbury, Westmorland Co., NB and died the same
day, both having married Elmira Jane Steeves.
It seems that Daniel Wheaton married to Mary Bennett did not
have a son by the name of George, but did have a son William
and I can't find a record of this William having a son by
the name of George. It appears that Daniel's son William was
born in North River, NB also, as that is where Daniel first
settled.
This seems too much of a coincidence for them not to be the
same person.
Can anyone give some direction where else I might look in
order to find a true source.
Could it be that George Miller Wheaton took on the maiden name of his mother? I just don't know at this time.
Help is much appreciated.
